Main Street Jazz
This energetic and nostalgic show features 2 - 4 singers, piano, drums
and a stand-up bass in elegant black, white and red performing hits and
favorites from the Great American Songbook and the very best of
Broadway. Among the composers and songs featured are: Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, "Moonglow," "Ain’t Misbehavin'," "Java Jive," "You Made Me Love You," "Stardust"
Starring award-winning singer, Julie Lyn Barber along with Jerry & Judy Cole,
Stevie Hahn and Darrin Murrell, this exciting show will have everyone
dancing in the aisles!
Main Street Roots
It’s
a barn-burner as a trio of multi-talented musicians juggle guitars,
banjo, harmonica, drums, fiddle, bass and moonshine jugs as they are
joined by 2 - 4 singers in a salute to the folk and bluegrass music that
tells the story of our heritage through the musical stories of the
people. Featured
composers and songs include: Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Old-Time
Gospel, "Orange Blossom Special," "Bound for Glory," "I’ll Fly Away"
An optional mini-set includes a rousing collection of Canadian and Celtic folk songs. Primitive instruments and sing-along sheets are always available for audience members to join in the fun!
Main Street Classical
Award-winning
singer, Julie Lyn Barber brings her
soulful interpretation and styling to some of the greatest compositions
from classical music. Her unique coloratura voice blends beautifully to
the music of the worlds greatest composers, including: Mozart, Bernstein, Bellini, Bach, Handel, Purcell and John Dowland.
An educator as well as an artist, Julie fills each
concert with interesting information and historical facts that help put
the music in context for each audience. Depending on the program,
accompaniment options range from piano to lute to harpsichord.
Additional performers and repertoire also available for expanded shows.
